Lindsay Broxap BA (Hons)
Lindsay holds the STOTT Pilates® Full Certification, a globally recognised qualification that represents the highest level of Comprehensive Pilates training. There are only a handful of instructors holding this level of qualification in the North of England.
This certification reflects extensive education across all Pilates modalities, including Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Stability Chair, Barrels, Injuries and Special Populations. It is grounded in modern exercise science, biomechanics and rehabilitation principles. It ensures Lindsay has a deep understanding of how the body moves and how to teach Pilates safely, effectively, and intelligently.
Lindsay has been teaching movement since 1994, initially training as an Exercise to Music Instructor and Personal Trainer. She spent over two decades working within the health and fitness industry in Manchester, where she co-owned her own aerobics and fitness studio in the 1990s and later freelanced across many of the city’s leading health clubs. In the early 2000s she was Group Exercise Manager for Holmes Place Health Clubs, overseeing large teaching teams and programming.
Her Pilates journey began in 1997, when she trained with Michael King and The Pilates Institute, graduating with a distinction in Pilates Matwork. She was one of the first Pilates instructors in the North West of England and the first to bring Pilates Matwork into mainstream health clubs.
From 2006, Lindsay spent five years teaching Pilates at Bury Physio and Sports Injury Clinic, a pivotal period in her career. Working closely with physiotherapists and clients experiencing back pain, injury, and rehabilitation needs, she developed a deep understanding of how to adapt Pilates safely and effectively. This experience led her to retrain extensively with STOTT Pilates, deepening her knowledge of functional anatomy, biomechanics, and evidence-based movement. She then went on to manage and be senior teacher at Prestwich Pilates and Yoga before setting up Pilates Space in 2016.
